Description

By July the ground has gone hard. Paths that were mud in March bake into ridges, and a full day out means miles of them underfoot. Pads cope, because that's what they're for, but they dry out and harden the same way your own hands do after a week of rough work.

The balm keeps them in condition. Worked in after a walk, the almond, olive and hemp seed oils and the shea butter put back what hard ground takes out. Worked in before one, the beeswax leaves a thin barrier between pad and ground, which earns its keep most in winter, when the roads are salted and grit works into everything.

There are six ingredients in the tin: sweet almond oil, olive oil, hemp seed oil, shea butter, beeswax and vitamin E. The list is short on purpose. Most dogs try to lick a balm off the moment it goes on, so every ingredient was chosen knowing it wouldn't stay on the paw for long, and each one is something you'd recognise from food or your own skincare. It's unperfumed for the same reason. It goes on the nose, and no part of the recipe is there for the human's benefit.

Another brilliant product from Pawtable!

Proper kit, for proper days out

Everything you need

Before Your Walk

How do I use it?

With clean, dry paws, work a pea-sized amount into each pad and a little onto the nose. A minute of fuss or a chew while it absorbs helps it stay where you put it.

How long does delivery take?

We dispatch most orders placed before 4pm on the same day, using Royal Mail Tracked 48. Standard delivery takes between 2-3 working days on average.

For Next Working Day Delivery, order by 4pm Mon-Fri.

Can I return it if I'm not happy?

Yes. If you are not satisfied with your Pawtable bottle, you can return it within the free 30 day return period provided it is unused and in its original, undamaged packaging.

Is it okay if my dog licks it?

Yes. The balm is made expecting it. All six ingredients are used in food or human skincare, and the small amount left on a pad isn't a concern.

Is hemp seed oil the same as CBD?

No. Hemp seed oil is pressed from the seeds of the plant and contains no CBD or THC. It's in the balm as a skin-conditioning oil, doing the same job as the almond and olive oils.

Can I use it on cracked or sore pads?

This is a conditioning balm, not a treatment. It's for keeping healthy pads in good shape through hard ground and hard seasons. If your dog's pads are cracked, bleeding or clearly bothering him, see a vet first.

Why is it unperfumed?

Because it goes on the nose. A scent that reads as light to us is strong to a dog, and nothing in the tin is there for the human's benefit.

Does it mark fabrics or floors?

It's oil-based, so give it a minute or two to absorb before your dog heads for the pale carpet. Worked in properly, it doesn't transfer.

Is it suitable for puppies?

The ingredients are gentle, but for very young puppies it's worth a quick word with your vet first, as with anything topical.

Is Pawtable a UK brand?

Yes. Pawtable Ltd (Registered Company No. 17072950) is designed for people who see pets as part of everyday life, creating products that make travelling and exploring with animals easier.
